TD5 is not OBD compliant for your diagnostic port so you need to spend the money on Nanocom, Hawkeye or lynx to read faults and correct them. 2 visits to a main-stealer will cost the same I expect so get your own. Then you’ll most likely have your codes and then your reason for the problems.
