Playingwith wired Xbox controller. Someone put in the time to add comprehensive options to this game good amount of graphics options, remapping controls, default schemes for 5 button mouse (!), and it's easy to switch from one control device to another. Impressive.

Its an Xbox controller and it has worked with all the other AC titles that I've played (Origins, Syndicate, etc.) In fact, I can quite BF and open Origins and my controller will work, but for some reason, it only lets me use the keyboard when playing Black Flag. Both were purchased through Steam.

Ingame, it seems to perform adequately. But, given that this is only working because of a 3rd party app it gives the game a bit of a "janky" feeling in that there doesn't seem to be a way to perfectly emulate Xbox 360 button assignments. I'll likely experiment later with wireless x360 & Xbox One controllers to see if that fixes the problem.

Eventuallyrealized it was because Origins needs you to be locked on, but KB+M has a hard time changing targets, which controller doesn't have, since the right stick is much easier to change targets with than a mouse. Verystrange controller issue in AC Origins PC. I recently booted the game for the first time since the 1.2 patch and noticed within a few minutes of playing that I couldn’t run straight.
