Ranger and necro would be 3 and 4 for choices. My biggest piece of advice is try a few different professions and see what feels the best to you. Currently best pet classes are Ranger and Mechanist. I would place mechanist as best pet class right now because how smooth and fun it is. Ranger is pretty straightforward - you have pet, you find new pets on maps, you play with them in cohesion. Despite my love for necromancer as my main, I wouldn't even consider it as pet class.

GW1 was a game where every skill on every player's bar mattered, as the goal was often to curate 8 x 8 skills that can combine into some broken synergy. The coordination, timing and execution requirement was high. This is a game with high healing.

I main a Ranger and I say Necromancer has the best looking skills in terms of animation. When a Necromancer uses a skill, everyone immediately notices. Here are the characters I have: 5 Ranger, I had a level 80 Ranger way back when and liked it a lot. My Guardian - the class is entirely new to me and seems like it has a versatile endgame selection of roles. Warrior - the class seems a bit one-dimensional to me, I'm not sure how much fun it would be to take through the leveling process.
